Nice to meet you. This is Kim Seon-young, the representative director of Healing Ophthalmology.

Those reading this article are probably looking for information about us after hearing rumors that we are an ophthalmology clinic with the record and equipment of leading medical staff in Korea.

Since the eye is directly related to vision, it is a good choice to check the medical staff's skills and equipment.

All the directors in our hospital have ophthalmologist qualifications and university hospital professorships that only about 0.04% of Korean doctors have.

In fact, today I would like to tell you a slightly different story.

This is the history of the directors of our hospital.

It may feel a little strange, but we don't want people who visit our Healing Eye Clinic to come looking only at our external record and fancy equipment.

From now on, I want to tell you one more important thing besides history and equipment, so if you are planning to visit, please take three minutes to read it.

'1 min '

This is the word that best describes us.

Did you know that the eye is the most nerve-dense part of our body?

Therefore, if you accidentally touch even one nerve by mistake, discomfort such as a sharp drop in vision or pain occurs.

You are well aware of this, so you must be looking for an ophthalmologist 'very carefully'.

I would like to get rid of your fears in just 'one minute'.

Shall we listen to an example?

Many people think that 'LASEK is a very painful operation'.

However, patients who have undergone surgery by us often say, 'Uh.. It doesn't hurt more than I thought.'

Why would this happen?

Actually, it's very simple.

The anesthetic eye drops given before surgery can be instilled slowly in three divided doses.

In addition, when irradiating the high-temperature laser to the eye during surgery, the eyeball can be 'sufficiently' washed with cold water to cool the heat.

In addition, high-performance equipment (although it costs hundreds of millions of dollars...), medications, etc. can alleviate the discomfort.

This process takes only 1 minute.

What other difference can one minute make?

We focus on the patient with the thought of 'just one more minute...' even if the treatment is slightly longer.

It is to clearly find out the 'cause' of the uncomfortable part and recommend appropriate treatment.

'No matter what hospital you go to, you have to live like this for the rest of your life...

I came here because I was asked to come here.”

It was the voice of one person who visited our Healing Eye Clinic one day.

Since childhood, this person has been congenitally severely clouded in the cornea. (Diagnosis name: Avellino Keratopathy)

Because it is a genetic disease, he said that he only heard that there was no way even though he went to all the hospitals.

I listened to the patient's story a little more and looked closely into his eyes.

Then, I suddenly thought, 'What if I use a laser to remove the center of the cloudy part?', and I recommended this to the patient.

The patient who believed in my opinion underwent surgery, and the patient's visual acuity, which was 0.1, went up to 0.7 to 0.8.

And then, I remember you saying, 'I feel like I was born again... From now on, the day of surgery will be my birthday haha' ^^

In fact, a lot of people like this go to our hospital.

A 94-year-old grandmother whose family couldn't figure out her eye problem because of dementia,

Patients who heard that 'LASIK' revision surgery was difficult and did not even look for it (we established a separate revision center because these patients felt so much discomfort)

A woman in her 60s who has not been treated in the United States, a patient with LASIK side effects... etc.

I think the reason why all of these treatments were possible is because we tried to understand the patient's position for 'only one minute' rather than having excellent techniques and equipment.

Could it be that the operation went wrong..?

They say it's not a fatal disease.. Maybe I'm just doing it..

People around me say it hurts,, I just have to endure it,,

Many patients are afraid of surgery.

As someone who had LASIK before becoming a doctor, I personally understand the anxiety.

This is what I look like before and after Lasik.

In most cases, the patient's opinion is respected and surgery is recommended.

However, those who really need surgery use 'one more minute'.

'Grandma... don't you want to see your grandson's face?

If the surgery goes well, you will be able to see the face of your lovely grandson clearly.”

‘How do you feel when you enter the operating room? Are you very scared?

If you look at the light in front of your eyes for a few minutes, you will be able to see your parents' faces without glasses."

In addition, when I am about to leave work, I suddenly think of the faces of patients who are anxious about surgery, so I use '1 minute' more.

The doctor who operated on the patient asked if there was any discomfort or if he was okay.

If these minutes of time are gathered one by one, every day becomes exhausting.

And I know that there are people who think, 'I should do at least one more operation'.

However, since we are well aware of how great the results of this one-minute difference are, we don't think it's a waste at all.

In addition to treating the eyes of patients, if you understand our desire to 'Healing' their fearful hearts, we are just grateful.

All of you who have read this far have given us more than a minute of your valuable time.

If you believe in us and come to us, we promise to show you that the one minute or more you just spent wasn't wasted.

I sincerely hope that this article will be helpful to those who are considering visiting Healing Eye Clinic.
