I'm Dr. Kim Sun-young, medical director of Healing Eye Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam, Seoul. I was a clinical professor of cornea and cataract surgery at a university hospital, and today I see international patients every week, with English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese interpreters on site.
Once ICL patients have decided on the procedure, the questions turn practical: "Dr. Kim, where exactly are you, how do I get there from the airport, and how many nights should I book?"
If you're planning icl surgery seoul, those answers decide your flights, your leave from work and your hotel. I understand — it's hard to commit to surgery abroad while the logistics are still a blur.
So let me be honest first: the one thing that most often stretches an ICL trip isn't the surgery — it's waiting for a lens made to your measurements. Here is the practical side, in the order you'll need it.
ICL surgery in Seoul: four practical questions
1. Where exactly is the clinic?
We're at 470 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, on the 10th and 11th floors. That's a one-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station, in the middle of Gangnam.
You won't need a car to reach us. For the next-day check, that short walk matters more than you'd think.
2. How do I get here from the airport?
Incheon Airport is about 70 minutes away. Plan your arrival so you're not landing on the morning of your exam.
Think of the first evening like the night before an exam at school: arrive, sleep, and come in rested. Measurements are steadier when you aren't jet-lagged and dry-eyed from the flight.
3. Where should I stay?
Our partner hotel is O'Cloud Hotel in Seocho-gu. You're free to stay anywhere, of course.
Whatever you choose, stay close. You'll come back the day after surgery for the check.
4. How many nights does ICL really need?
The base is the same as laser: at least three nights, four recommended — exam, surgery, next-day check.
ICL can add one to two days if your lens has to be ordered to your measurements. So most ICL visitors should plan four to six nights, with flights they can change.
For ICL surgery in Seoul, plan around the lens, not the operation. The surgery itself takes about fifteen minutes for both eyes; the lens can add one to two days to the trip.
Who ICL suits, and the exam step by step, is in ICL surgery in Korea.
Why the same surgeon stays with you, start to finish
This is the principle that shapes the whole trip.
The doctor who measures your eye is the doctor who places the lens and the doctor who checks it the next day. With a lens inside the eye, I don't want your care handed between people.
What you can check before trusting us: international patients pay exactly what Korean patients pay, we hold 4.8 stars from 154 reviews on Google, and I'm a full member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). We're also a registered medical institution for international patients with Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare. I'm not listing these to impress you — only so you have something to verify.
So when should I book my days?
Our hours shape your plan, because we're closed on Sundays and public holidays.
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday – Thursday | 10:00 – 18:30 |
| Friday | 10:00 – 21:00 |
| Saturday | 10:00 – 14:00 |
| Sunday, public holidays | Closed |
Lunch is 13:00–14:00. A Saturday surgery means the next-day check can't fall on Sunday, so plan surgery for a weekday when you can. Directions and a map are on the Korean head office's location page.

Price. EVO ICL is ₩5,500,000 for both eyes, Toric ₩6,000,000, and the exam ₩150,000 — the same for everyone. What the lens price pays for is in EVO ICL surgery cost in Korea, and the full list is on our price page.
Side effects, and who I turn away
The logistics only matter if ICL is right for you.
- Night glare and halos are common early on; many people adapt over weeks.
- Eye pressure is checked the same day, the next day and periodically after that.
- Inflammation or lens position problems are uncommon, which is why drops on schedule matter.
I hold off on ICL with a shallow chamber, a low count of the cornea's inner cells, or glaucoma or uveitis risk factors. If laser can correct you safely, I'll recommend that instead. Results and recovery vary from person to person.
Your packing and planning list
- Contact lenses: stop at least a week before the exam for soft, longer for rigid.
- Bring: your current glasses prescription and any past eye records.
- Flights: changeable; no departure before the next-day check.
- Drops: one to two weeks of drops on schedule; we explain them with the interpreter.
- At home: periodic checks of eye pressure and the cornea's inner cells, using the written record we give you.

Don't book the hotel yet — book the exam date
If you take one thing from this page, let it be this: fix the exam date first, and build the nights around it.
It doesn't have to be our clinic. But choose one close enough to walk back to, where the same surgeon checks the lens the next day.
Send us your prescription, your age and your travel window on WhatsApp. If ICL isn't right for your eyes, I'll tell you plainly before you book a single night.
I hope to see you in Seoul.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the clinic for ICL surgery in Seoul?
Healing Eye Clinic is at 470 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, on the 10th and 11th floors, a one-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station. It is about 70 minutes from Incheon Airport.
How many nights do I need in Seoul for ICL?
Plan three to four nights as a base — exam, surgery and the next-day check — and add one to two days if your lens has to be ordered. In practice most ICL visitors should allow four to six nights and book changeable flights.
Is there a hotel near the clinic?
Our partner hotel is O'Cloud Hotel in Seocho-gu. You are free to stay anywhere, but staying close to Sinnonhyeon makes the next-day check and any extra visit easier.
What are the clinic's opening hours?
Monday to Thursday 10:00–18:30, Friday 10:00–21:00 and Saturday 10:00–14:00, with lunch from 13:00 to 14:00. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays, which matters when you plan your surgery and next-day check.
Will someone speak English with me?
Yes. An English interpreter is on site, as are Japanese and Traditional Chinese interpreters, so your measurements, lens choice and aftercare instructions are explained in your language.
Can I fly home the day after ICL surgery?
Only after the next-day check confirms that the lens position and eye pressure are stable. That is why I recommend leaving room in your schedule rather than booking the flight for the morning after surgery.
